What is AD&D coverage?
AD&D is an insurance short-form for the phrase Accidental Death and Dismemberment. It is part of the mandatory life benefit of every policy, covering a legal minimum compensation in the event of an accident or dismemberment, typically specific to each body part insured by law. This differs from mandatory and optional life coverage in that the cause of death or injury is insured separately from other specifications of death and injury to a legally imposed minimum.
